Jane Monheit is a jazz and adult contemporary vocalist with a deep passion for the Great American
Songbook. She has been touring, recording, and winning accolades for more than two
decades. Catapulted into the jazz stratosphere nearly overnight, by age 22 Jane was working and
collaborating with legends such as Tommy Flanagan, Ron Carter, Terence Blanchard, Ivan Lins, Tom
Harrell, John Pizzarelli, Christian McBride, Vince Mendoza, Jorge Calandrelli, and Kenny Barron,
recording her first albums, and touring the planet. Now, after twelve studio albums and countless
recorded guest appearances, Jane continues to tour nearly nonstop, playing iconic venues such as
Carnegie Hall and The Hollywood Bowl, and headlining legendary jazz clubs, most notably NY stalwarts
The Village Vanguard and Birdland. Additionally, she uses the knowledge and experience she has
gained both at Manhattan School Of Music and on the legendary bandstands of the world to educate and
uplift students worldwide. Jane resides in Los Angeles with her husband of over twenty years, drummer Rick Montalbano, and their son.
This MasterClass is a new initiative under the MAC to School series of programs. It is a separate
purchase that is part of the MAC to School series. The main MAC to School weekend will take place September 27-28 with a separate registration and fee.
