STARR STRUCK with KAY STARR!!

STARR STRUCK WITH KAY STARR!! debuted at Provincetown Cabaretfest 2024 as part of the festival’s theme “The Golden Era of Nightclubs”. Nightlife Exchange Magazine said “…boy, can La Barbera sell a song. La Barbera makes these well-worn songs her own…confident and beautifully poised throughout, with genuine enthusiasm for (Kay) Starr’s artistry.” Now, Vivienne LaBarbera is premiering the full show at Josephine’s at Club Café. Vivienne’s son, singer Devon Patane, will join her as a surprise addition to the show. Plus a spooky ending with Lennie Watts and Tracy Stark joining in!!

Vivienne LaBarbera has renewed her love for Cabaret as a retiree. She has performed in NYC Clubs, Don’t Tell Mama’s being the most recent. In 2017, Vivienne played Mama Morton in Peregrine Theater’s performance of Chicago in Provincetown. A regular attendee at Provincetown’s Cabaretfest! since then, Vivienne said, “Director Patricia Fitzpatrick has provided a wonderful opportunity to renew and hone my cabaret skills in the wonderful master classes and Spotlight Shows.”

Lennie Watts, Director extraordinaire and Tracy Stark, accomplished pianist and Musical Director helped her create “Starr Struck with Kay Starr!” Kay Starr bridged all the musical genres of the 50’s, 60’s and beyond which earned her the title – The Queen of Swing. Vivienne said, “I feel her music in my bones!!”
