Lyricist Lorenz (Larry) Hart was the short\, sharp\, closeted\, conflicted creator – with composer Richard Rodgers — of more than 500 songs\, many beloved mainstays of American popular music: Falling In Love With Love\, Isn’t It Romantic? My Funny Valentine\, Bewitched\, Bothered and Bewildered. Yet only bits of the title tune are heard in the movie. New York cabaret veterans Eric Yves Garcia and Maria Abous fill the gap with a night of Rodgers and Hart treasures. And\, yes\, one by Oscar Hammerstein. Plus lyric sheets for the audience to sing along with. For better and verse. \nThe 2026 season of the annual concert series Hamptons Summer Songbook By the Sea opens with “An Evening With Norm Lewis” on June 28\, followed by Ann Hampton Callaway in “Here’s to Life” on July 11\, and Klea Blackhurst and Billy Stritch in “Dreaming of a Song: The Music of Hoagy Carmichael” on July 18\, and Eric Yves Garcia and Maria Abous in “Beyond Blue Moon (and Before the Broken Hart)” on July 25. The series continues with Barbara Fasano and Eric Comstock in “A Swell-egant\, Elegant Party” on August 1\, KT Sullivan\, Mark Nadler\, Christine Pedi\, and Stephanie Pope in “Hey\, Old Friend! A Cabaret Jubilee” on August 22\, Pamela Morgan in “What’s Cooking?” on August 23\, and closes with Donna McKechnie in “A Musical Memoir” on August 29. In 2015\, he made his London West End debut with One Night Only with Mel Brooks\, also performed in LA (April 2014 and filmed for HBO). At the Geffen\, he accompanied Carrie Fisher in her one-woman show\, Wishful Drinking. Other Southern California credits include the LA Philharmonic debut at the Hollywood Bowl (Summer 2005) as on-stage pianist for Stephen Sondheim’s 75th Birthday Concert.
