SUMMARY:Martin Bonventre: Swingin’ in a New Dimension album release show
DESCRIPTION:Martin Bonventre\,  a true old-school showman with a baritone voice\, smooth moves\, and a big\, open-hearted personality\, brings his show to The Laurie Beechman Theatre with the release of his brand-new EP\, Swingin’ in a New Dimension. This all-new solo show blends a wide variety of music from the Great American Songbook to golden-age musical theatre to Tom Jones and Neil Diamond. \nBacked by a killer band of seasoned pros\, with arrangements by music director Jackie Presti\, the night features:\n•        Jason Yeager on piano\n•        Tony Tedesco on drums\n•        Boots Maleson on bass\n•        Greg Ruvolo on trumpet\n•        Geoff Burke on sax and flute \nExpect a few dance breaks\, a few good stories\, and a whole lotta swing. \nTHE REVIEWS ARE IN: \n“As Sinatra learned from Bing Crosby and took crooning into a new dimension\, Martin Bonventre has learned from the whole history of swingin’ singers — from Crosby to Marvin Gaye — and he makes music all his own. He’s a swinger for the bold and unexpected new ways things swing today.” – David Hajdu\, author of Love for Sale: Pop Music in America \n“At 34\, Martin has a lot of future ahead of him—and from where I stand\, all of it looks great.” – Will Friedwald\, Author and Jazz Journalist \n“…What isn’t contained is his enthusiasm. It’s endearing and entertaining. Although he’s in his 30s\, the sound is boyish\, bright\, and breezy as baritone Bonventre dives into the music” -Talkin’ Broadway\n\nBonventre has a strong baritone…his timing was on point in the swing arrangements—and his fans appreciated him with vigor. With Presti’s excellent arrangements\, and a top-shelf band\, overall\, the show offered excellent material and was indeed charming.” \n—Nightlife Exchange \n\n\n“Bonventre is a strong cabaret and theater vocalist\, who has picked several perfect songs for his style.  It’s when he sings the pop song and Michael Jackson’s hit record\, “She’s Out of My Life” that this baritone gets my full attention.  Bonventre softens his tone and delivers this piece of exquisite music\, showing a deep emotional connection.” -Making a Scene
