SUMMARY:MACON: His Own Way... The Comeback!
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! Macon Prickett is back in the basement! The “boisterous boy with the big voice” is thrilled to return to the 54 Below stage in MACON: His Own Way… The Comeback! This “newly minted cabaret star” will once again present an evening of show tunes\, standards\, eleven o’clock numbers\, and a little bit of diva worship on the side. After spending the last several years working in the little basement of dreams at 54 Below\, Macon has observed and learned from the best that the cabaret world has to offer. This performance is Macon’s own way of paying homage to the great show-stoppers that have graced the 54 Below stage! It’s fun! It’s opulent! It’s Broadway! \nFeaturing special guests Sarah Goodman and Cassi Mikat (The Sound of Music international tour). \nHailing from the farmlands of Prickettville\, Alabama\, Macon Prickett was born to entertain! Since making the big move to the Big Apple over 7 years ago\, Macon has draped himself across pianos on stages throughout the city at venues such as 54 Below plus The Duplex\, Don’t Tell Mama\, Greenroom42\, and late night karaoke at Baby Grand. Macon is a member of Actor’s Equity Association\, occasionally chewing the scenery as a cow\, a snail\, an earthworm\, a ghost\, and awaiting the day he’ll get the chance to play a real boy! \nVisit Macon online at www.maconwprickett.com or on social media @mrmaconprickett to follow along as he rises to at least the middle!

At the age of five\, he was cast in the Horn and Hardart Children’s Hour\, broadcast from NBC Studios. At six years old\, he sang “Because of You” with Tony Bennett at the Shubert Theater in New Haven\, Connecticut. He later studied dance\, piano\, and attended music classes at Carnegie Hall. After serving in the U.S. Air Force\, Autore fell in love again with the arts of dance\, piano\, vocals\, and design\, leading to a move to NYC in the late 1960s\, and to Fort Lauderdale in 1986. Career highlights include performing at Grossinger’s in the Catskills\, 1971-73\, an engagement at Merv Griffin’s Resorts International\, Atlantic City\, and as the headliner at the World Famous Jockey Club in Miami in 1986. Prior to making his NYC solo cabaret debut on November 5\, 2025\, Autore worked as the weekend performer at Maggiano’s in Boca Raton for 16 years.

SUMMARY:Steve Budd: Oy\, What They Said About Love
DESCRIPTION:Steve Budd comes to NYC for a performance of his award-winning solo play “Oy\, What They Said About Love” at Don’t Tell Mama NYC on SATURDAY\, JANUARY 17 at 8:00 PM. Come check out his Jewish (which is to say heartfelt\, hilarious\, and somewhat neurotic) take on love\, romance\, and marriage–and the search for “the one.” Directed by Mark Kenward & Kenny Yun. \nAwarded “Best of the 2024 San Francisco Fringe” – The newest mashup of personal storytelling and docu-theater from an award-winning solo performer who “sparkles with manic and irrepressible charm” (Theatrius). \nSteve wonders why other people can tie the knot and he can’t. Oy\, does he wonder! So he asked a bunch of couples what brought them together and what keeps them from pulling apart. Meet a Jewish couple who met on Craigslist\, an interfaith pair who met on Halloween\, and more. Budd plays a dozen characters and weaves in his relentless search for “the one.” \nSteve Budd’s “Oy\, What They Said About Love” premiered at the San Francisco Fringe Festival on July 28\, 2024\, at the Exit Theatre. It continued with a performance at the Binge Fringe Festival in Santa Monica in March 2025\, followed by a featured presentation at The Marsh in Berkeley on April 22 as part of its Marsh Risings series. In May\, Budd brought the piece to San Diego for a live and Zoom hybrid event hosted by Yiddishland California and also participated in the San Diego International Fringe Festival. The show continued its tour with performances at the Ottawa Fringe Festival in June 2025 at the Atelier Theatre\, where Apt 613 hailed it as “a sharp and insightful\, polished show.” Oy\, What They Said About Love ran for six weeks in Sept. and Oct. 2025 at The Marsh in Berkeley\, where For All Events called it “amusing and heartbreaking.” \nOy\, What They Said About Love \nJANUARY 17 at 8:00 PM \n(Seating from 7:15) \nDON’T TELL MAMA \n343 W. 46th Street \nNew York\, NY 10036 \ndonttellmamanyc.com \n$20 cover + $20 two-drink minimum per person \nFood menu available / CASH ONLY
