SUMMARY:Tom Tucker - Will This Be On The Test?
DESCRIPTION:Teacher TOM TUCKER  is setting up class… at Josephine’s! “WILL THIS BE ON THE TEST?” is a cabaret night of lightly and laughably instructive songs. Tom is teaching what he knows\, sharing what he’s learned… 30 years teaching\, 60 years living. Through song and story\, Mister Tucker (Mr. T. to “his kids”) will explain it all to you\, Boston! Life? Love? State Capitals? Senior discounts? Tom’s gonna cover a lot of ground in one hour. You may be moved to take notes! Bring him an apple\, and you may be moved up front! Permission slips are not required; chocolate milk may be provided. Pop Quiz and (likely) nap time to follow immediately afterwards! \nTOM TUCKER is a singer and middle-school English teacher from New York City… by way of Revere\, Medford\, and Southie. Teenage Tom started singing beside the piano of family friend (and Boston cabaret great)\, Dottie Dean. \nNYC: The Supper Club with the Barry Levitt Orchestra\, Don’t Tell Mama\, The Lent-Riker Estate\, Synchronicity Space SoHo. Tom sings on the Pippin (’13 revival) cast recording. \nBoston: The Opera House\, The Half Shell\, Ryle’s\, and seven previous appearances at Club Cafe: “Swingin’ Sixty!” and “Gimme A Little Room” at Josephine’s; “Blame It On The Moonshine\,” “Another Manic Monday\, My 80s Songbook\,” “Fools First\, April Second” and “Lower Keys And False Eyelashes\,” all in The Moonshine Room. Tom also shared the Moonshine stage with wonderful Jan Peters as one of her Cabaret Spotlight artists; an absolute highlight! Tom frequently performs with Club Cafe favorite Janet Stanton\, and Boston treasure/great pal/musical director Brian Patton. \nJOSEPHINE’S in the NAPOLEON ROOM – Boston’s best professionals and tomorrow’s rising stars singing JAZZ\, BROADWAY & MADCAP CABARET!  Dinner seating starts at 5:00 and the one hour show begins at 6:00 pm.

SUMMARY:Ann Kittredge -- Love for Sale: my 10 years in Cabaret
DESCRIPTION:It was 2016. My husband gave me a great gift: coaching sessions with Steven Lutvak. I hadn’t sung professionally in over 11 yrs and had somehow decided this was the perfect moment to leap into a new genre—cabaret. Steven introduced me to Sidney Myer\, and with absolutely no idea how wonderful he was\, I nervously sent him a truly dreadful-quality video of me singing\, hoping he might let me put together a show at Don’t Tell Mama. \nAmazingly\, Sidney invited me to meet him. He shared his wisdom with me for over 2 hours without once suggesting I find a new hobby. Later that year\, I made my cabaret debut and it was so much fun that several members of my family still don’t remember it. \nFor those who’ve guided me\, challenged me\, and occasionally talked me off a ledge\, you deserve a medal: \nBarry Kleinbort\, Christopher Denny\, Richard Jay Alexander\, Alex Rybeck\, Marilyn Maye\, Paul Rolnick\, Richard Hillman\, Sean Harkness\, Robbie Kondor\, Andrea Marcovicci\, Jeff Harnar\, Sara Louise Lazarus\, Sandra Bargman\, Tom Toce\, Carolyn Montgomery\, Sue Matsuki\, Mary Ann McSweeney\, Rex Benincasa\, Wendy Cavett\, Aaron Heick\, Karen Akers\, K.T.  Sullivan\, Randy Klein\, Jim Caruso! \nThen there are the many new friends who’ve inspired me through their own performances\, held my hand during my mother’s final year\, and showed up. And if this will be your first time seeing me perform\, I’d love to start the next ten years with you in the room. \nMAC MEMBERS:  $10 (yes\, really!

\nFor those who’ve guided me\, challenged me\, and occasionally talked me off a ledge\, you deserve a medal: \nBarry Kleinbort\, Christopher Denny\, Bob Hofmann\, Richard Jay Alexander\, Alex Rybeck\, Marilyn Maye\, Paul Rolnick\, Richard Hillman\, Sean Harkness\, Robbie Kondor\, Andrea Marcovicci\, Jeff Harnar\, Sara Louise Lazarus\, Sandra Bargman\, Tom Toce\, Carolyn Montgomery\, Sue Matsuki\, Mary Ann McSweeney\, Rex Benincasa\, Wendy Cavett\, Aaron Heick\, Karen Akers\, K.T. \nMAC MEMBERS:  $10 (yes\, really!)
