SUMMARY:MAC Virtual Open Mic on Zoom
DESCRIPTION:Sing with us from your own home! Join us for MAC’s VIRTUAL Open Mic on zoom  – Thursday August 14 @ 7pm. \n\nEmail us at: CabaretMACnyc@gmail.com to RSVP and get the zoom link. \n\nYou may either accompany yourself on your own musical instrument\, or sing along to your pre-recorded music track of your choice.\n\nIf singing to a track\, it works best if you have two devices – a laptop or tablet to connect to the zoom\, and a separate device such as your cell phone that has your music track on it so you can play the track and sing along to it that night. (We find having the separate device to play the track works best — if you try to play the track on the same device you use to connect to the zoom\, the audio and video don’t always sync up correctly.)\n\n\nHope you can join us!

SUMMARY:Craig Rubano\, Take the Moment\, August 16\, Norwalk\, CT
DESCRIPTION:Take the Moment! I’ll be joined by pianist Beth as part of the Music Theatre of Connecticut’s “Hot Summer Nights!” series on Saturday\, August 16th at 8 PM in my Bistro award-winning “Take the Moment.” Recently\, I went to visit the venue and saw Sally Mayes and Billy Stritch work their magic. It’s a charming\, intimate space; the audience was warm and\, strikingly\, included many people I know from New York City. Just an hour away by train from Grand Central Station\, Norwalk has a long history of resident show folk.  \nAnother opportunity remains to see “Take the Moment\,” on August 23rd in East Hampton as part of the “Hamptons Summer Songbook by the Sea” series. Beth Ertz\, along with Jeffrey Carney on bass join me at East Hampton’s LTV Studios!

SUMMARY:Margaret Curry: The Space In-Between
DESCRIPTION:Through story and song\, Margaret Curry explores\, forages\, stimulates\, and delights in the universes between the present and the future\, the good and the bad\, the yesterdays and the moments at hand\, the hope and the wonder of what’s-to-come. Through compositions by Johnny Mercer\, Yip Harburg\, Chaka Khan\, Roy Orbison\, Jimmy Webb\, and more\, Curry tells her story (and most probably some of ours!) \nAn award-winning actress drawn to the poetic realism of Tennessee Williams and the raw humanity of Lanford Wilson\, Curry makes her 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in Wilson’s The Moonshot Tape\, following a celebrated Off-Broadway run. Fresh from that riveting performance\, she brings her richly expressive cabaret to the London stage. \nA Bistro Award winner for The Space In-Between and a MAC nominee for Best Female Vocalist\, Curry is backed by a powerhouse team: director Lina Koutrakos\, musical director Gregory Toroian\, Skip Ward on bass\, and David Silliman on drums. Produced by Deep Flight Productions. \n“This is someone who really knows how to tell her stories in song with effortless style. Her well-scripted patter allowed each song to come from the heart and what better statement is that?” – Ron Fassler\, Theater Pizzazz \n“…excellent storyteller with strong acting skills that augment her vocal interpretations…The show is well-constructed\, with good pacing and top-notch musical backing.” – Andrew Poretz\, Theater Pizzazz \nTHE SPACE IN-BETWEEN \nThursday\, 28 August at 9:15 PM \nMargaret Curry – Vocals \nGregory Toroian – Musical Director/Arranger/Piano \nSkip Ward – Bass \nDavid Silliman – Drums \nDirected by Lina Koutrakos \nProduced by Deep Flight Productions \nCrazy Coqs at Brasserie Zédel \n20 Sherwood Street\, \nLondon\, W1F 7ED \nbrasseriezedel.com/crazy-coqs/ \nTICKETS from £22.50: https://www.brasseriezedel.com/events/margaret-curry-the-space-in-between/
