DESCRIPTION:I’m so excited to share that I’m bringing back my solo cabaret show\, Wait ‘Til You See What’s Next\, for two encore performances at The Green Room 42! \n Saturday\, November 15 at 1:00 PM Tuesday\, December 8 at 7:00 PM \nAfter my debut of this show back in July\, I’m thrilled to bring it back with my wonderful collaborators\, Music Director Michael Lavine and Director Eric Michael Gillett. This show is a journey through the Great American Songbook and contemporary musical theatre\, from Sondheim and Handel to Maury Yeston and Jason Robert Brown\, and I can’t wait to share it again. \nI’m deeply grateful for the response the show received this summer: “A lodestar of cabaret hope.” — Marilyn Lester\, NiteLife Exchange “A rich baritone/tenor that at times recalls classic men of the Rialto.” — Randolph B. Eigenbrode\, Cabaret Scenes “The sky’s the limit with Ethan Mathias.” — Laurie Lawson\, ELJ “Believe the hype!” — Jed Ryan\, Lavender After Dark Stage and Cinema wrote that my age is quickly becoming “the least interesting thing about me” — it’s the artistry that matters\, and that means the world to hear. \nI would be so honored to have you join me for either of these performances. Thank you for your continued support\, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.

SUMMARY:Phil and Gabriela Kassel - Across the Generational Divide
DESCRIPTION:Gabriela and Phil Kassel enjoy singing together at Club Café when she is visiting from Montreal\, but they last did a whole show nearly 20 years ago when she was in high school. They decided that’s too long\, geography be damned! Between songs\, they’ll tell stories about how their musical paths crossed at different phases of life and give a glimpse of their frank familial rapport\, singing old and new favorite tunes\, including those of Amy Winehouse; Joy of Cooking; Laura Nyro\, Bonnie Raitt\, Sheryl Crow\, Leonard Cohen\, and others. Their friend and long-time collaborator\, Michael Larson\, is the show’s Musical Director and he’ll join them on piano. \nPhil and Gabriela have busy day jobs as a local public interest lawyer and somatic therapist and facilitator. By all accounts\, their voices work well together. Here are excerpts from a review of a show they did in 2007: “Bringing down the house was left to the dynamic father-daughter act of Gabriela and Phil Kassel. The duo’s sweet harmonies play off the songs\, with Dad” nailing a “dark sardonic vocal pitch” and lightening to “a soaring tenor to accompany his daughter\,” who has “a dreamy\, fluid voice which allows the music to spill out like water bouncing and skipping across stones – and the lyrics to fall effortlessly across the notes. You can hear and appreciate every single word\, partly because she makes it look so natural\, as if you hadn’t heard the lyric before.” (Beverly Creasey of Theatremirror.com) \nRESERVATIONS strongly recommended.

Join John O’Neil as he takes you on a sleighride of songs and memories of the holiday season from Thanksgiving to Christmas. \nJohn will be joined onstage by his sister Carole and pianist Ryan Mascilak

SUMMARY:Leslee Warren: Light Dark & Stormy – Lena Horne
DESCRIPTION:Leslee Warren presents an encore of her new show Light Dark & Stormy – Lena Horne\, on Thursday\, December 3 at 9pm\, as part of Urban Stages Winter Rhythms. Honoring the iconic sepia songstress\, MGM glamour girl\, and internationally acclaimed nightclub sensation\, Warren pays tribute to Horne’s artistry\, elegance\, and enduring legacy through unforgettable songs and compelling stories. \nThis much-anticipated follow-up to Warren’s solo cabaret debut\, Me Myself & Eye: Songs of a Near-Sighted Girl\, features Musical Director and Arranger Gregory Toroian on piano\, Skip Ward on bass\, and David Silliman on drums. Directed by Lina Koutrakos. (Photo credit: Helane Blumfield) \nLight Dark & Stormy – Lena Horne premiered on September 17\, 2026\, at Chelsea Table + Stage. Sharon Ellman of BroadwayWorld said\, “Warren absolutely has those powerful yet smooth vocals that do justice to the late\, great Horne…Warren truly amazed this reviewer with her magnificent vocal portrayal of her idol…Warren\, herself a musical theater talent\, happens to also possess the same cool and effortless elegance as Lena Horne.” \nVocalist Leslee Warren found a new home on the cabaret stage with her solo debut\, Me Myself & Eye: Songs of a Nearsighted Girl. Combining Warren’s love of music and storytelling with her blurry life experiences\, seen through thick glasses\, the show was nominated for a BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award\, Best Show in 2022. A transplanted Midwesterner\, Warren arrived in the Big Apple in pursuit of a stage career. She landed national tours of Titanic and The King and I\, stock productions including Ragtime\, Noises Off\, It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues\, Little Shop of Horrors\, Hamlet\, and The Sound of Music\, and a leading role in a Musicals Tonight production of Cabin in the Sky. As happens for many artists along the way\, a part-time job became a full-time career and her dream was buried – but never lost. During these years\, Warren joined Lathan’s Way\, a vocal quartet\, that helped stretch her range and hone her harmonic skills. Soon after\, she found her own voice and Musical Director/Arranger Gregory Toroian\, with whom she told her own story in Me Myself & Eye: Songs of a Nearsighted Girl at Don’t Tell Mama. Since her cabaret debut\, she has appeared in NYC at Laurie Beechman Theatre\, Pangea\, The Triad\, Urban Stages\, and in Mt. Kisco\, NY\, at Jazz on Main. SUMMARY:Tonu Ballard & Casey Thomas - Nothing Rhymes with Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Nothing Rhymes with Christmas \nToni Ballard and Casey Thomas offer a naughtily funny and musically rich take on the Yuletide season in this festive piano cabaret. \nRecounting Christmas chaos\, holiday hiccups\, and the merry mishaps that rarely make it onto a greeting card\, Toni and Casey blend skewed humor\, heartfelt storytelling\, and memorable music into an unforgettable hour of holiday entertainment. This will be Toni and Casey’s third production at Josephine’s. The first was 2024’s “A Matter of Time\,” a poignant meditation on our most precious commodity. Last year’s “Send in the Clowns” was a comic commentary on current events and relationships. They plan to bring that same wit\, warmth\, and theatricality to the holidays.

SUMMARY:Maria Corsaro: One Hundred Miles – Bebop to Hip Hop
DESCRIPTION:Maria Corsaro presents One Hundred Miles – Bebop to Hip Hop\, an evening of music celebrating the centennial of jazz legend Miles Davis\, as part of Urban Stages Winter Rhythms. Joining Corsaro on Thursday\, December 10 at 9:00 pm\, are the musicians from her 2026 MAC Award-nominated album Love Makes the Changes: musical director/arranger Gregory Toroian on piano\, Skip Ward on bass\, David Silliman on drums\, Mark Fineberg on saxophone and flute\, and album producer and director\, David Friedman. \nOf Corsaro’s album release show on November 22\, 2025\, at Chelsea Table + Stage in NYC\, Music Connection Magazine noted\, “Her love and execution of the material is impressive and it’s refreshing to hear these songs that you don’t often hear live these days.” \n“Maria Corsaro’s new album Love Makes the Changes is an example of what happens when a vocalist fully embraces jazz as an expressive language. Her voice moves with the clarity\, warmth\, and narrative poise of a seasoned storyteller\, while the spirit of jazz shapes her phrasing from the inside out.” ~ All About Vocals \n“Here is a woman who has chosen an emotional and heartfelt repertoire of beautiful music and poignant lyrics. The arrangements are rich and creative. This is a project both cabaret lovers and jazz aficionados can enjoy.” ~ Making a Scene \n“Corsaro’s storytelling\, phrasing\, and delivery aligns seamlessly with the ensemble’s fantastic performances. This is one engaging production.” ~ The Jazz Page \nMaria Corsaro’s love of music and performing began early in her life. She received her first undergraduate degree in theater and after graduation joined an Off-Broadway theater company. Then\, after years in a rewarding\, but non-musical career\, she returned to singing. Her recent focus has been returning to her love of jazz and the music of legendary jazz composers and lyricists. This is the music of her heart. She wants her audience to experience the emotional texture of this great American art form. She feels passionately that music feeds the soul and is the creative result of musical collaboration. In November 2025\, Corsaro celebrated the release of her debut album Love Makes the Changes (a 2026 MAC Award-nominee); in March 2023\, Corsaro performed songs inspired by her philosophy of life in Why Not?; and in November 2023\, she performed I Could Get Used to This! All three shows are directed by David Friedman with musical direction by Gregory Toroian. In 2022\, she completed a successful run of her show\, You Taught My Heart to Sing\, with the Gregory Toroian trio and directed by Sue Matsuki\, at Pangea. The jazz-inspired show consisted of songs where lyrics were added to instrumental compositions – sometimes years later. In addition to Chelsea Table + Stage\, Don’t Tell Mama\, Laurie Beechman Theatre\, and Pangea in NYC\, Corsaro has performed at Maureen’s Jazz Cellar in Nyack\, NY\, Jazz On Main in Mount Kisco\, NY\, The Magnolia Room in Norwalk\, CT\, Club Cafe in Boston\, MA\, and Deer Head Inn in Delaware Water Gap\, PA.
