GOLDIE DVER – “SWEET BEGINNING a musical celebration”
November 6, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Sunday, November 6 – 7:00PM
Laurie Beechman Theatre, 407 W 42nd Street, NYC (212) 695-6909
$25 cover/$25 food/drink minimum
MAC Award winning singer GOLDIE DVER celebrates the pre-release of her first CD, Sweet Beginning and the
premiere of the music video for her single, I’ve Still Got New York, plus much more in this
one night only event!
“Goldie blends the madcap frenetic quality one finds in a Minnelli, the jazz baby playfulness of a Channing, and the Streisand-like tendency to alter the contours of a song to give them a personally sculpted quality.”
– Mark Dundas Wood, Bistro Awards
We will, of course, be doing the live versions of a few songs from the CD, slightly pared down for a kick-ass 5 piece band of top NYC players, led by Music Director MICHAEL ROBERTS.
JOHN MILLER on bass, CHIP FABRIZI on drums, MARC DAINE on guitar, and MITCH ENDICK on sax.
The evening is directed by JAMES BEAMAN.
I’m honored to have the amazing CAROLYN MONTGOMERY as my special guest. She’s someone I’ve loved and admired through the years, and now she’s back performing again! Sharing the stage with Carolyn will be a high point for me and a delight for the audience. (We have some fun stuff up our sleeves).
Also delighted to have BILL ZEFFIRO as my special guest – to play his original song with me, as only he can! That’s the first single that was released this year from the album – and is available on all streaming platforms. (I love saying that – it makes me feel like I’m 25 again!)
And yet, there’s still more! At this show, we’ll be offering up a sneak peek of our (still untitled) show – which Jamie, Michael and I have started curating for the spring of 2023.
On top of all that, this show will benefit the Phyllis Newman Women’s Health Initiative, with $5 of every cover going to support their efforts to offer quality healthcare to all women in our industry. We’ve also set up a separate funding page for people who are able to contribute even a little bit more, whether they’re coming to our show or not. We have two more weeks to reach our goal of $1000!
Here’s the link to their JustGiving Funding page – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/goldie-dver
So this evening will be an event – a celebration of perseverance, joy, love, and the possibilities of life!
And yes – there will be party favors!
GOLDIE DVER has enjoyed an extensive performing career in top nightclubs in New York and across the US. Her acclaimed solo cabarets include After Today, Woman On The Stage, and Back in Mama’s Arms. In 2002, Goldie, James Beaman and David Maiocco won the MAC Award for their revue, Crazy World: Songs of Leslie Bricusse.
